3DSets Landrover - Part 1
May 2021
A friend has been keen on RC vehicles for a long while and curious to see how a 3D printed truck would go. The virtual model was purchased from 3DSets.com relatively cheaply and so far I have found it to be very well designed.
He has supplied the hundreds of tiny screws, motors, servos, tyres and all the other parts that aren’t able to be 3D printed and we’ve been working on this for the past couple of weeks. So far, print time has come to about 150 hours and the project isn’t quite half way yet!
It features a working gear reduction gearbox with fully locked diffs. The gears are recommended to be printed in PLA but I think nylon may be better. Time will tell.
I’m looking forward to getting this one finished so I can see it working. I may end up printing one for myself in time!
