Guide to Replacing a Creality CR10 V3 Thermistor

15th June 2022

The Creality CR10 V3 is used for larger parts that won’t fit on the 240 x 220 x 220mm print bed of our Prusas. Boasting a 300 x 300 x 400mm print volume, it was seen to be a reasonable solution for printing prototype parts for our upcoming sister business R-Spec.

It seems that it is a common problem that the thermistor fails on the standard hot-end and while this is inconvenient, it is a relatively simple fix. Replacement parts are cheap at around $10 but can be difficult to source as this appears to be a very common issue! It probably doesn’t help that we have been using PETG filament that requires a higher temperature than the more commonly used PLA. Future upgrades for the hotend and firmware are planned but for now it will be used as is.

This is our guide to replacing the thermistor in a standard CR10 V3. Follow the guide in the photo gallery for tips.

This is the first clue that your thermistor needs replacing.
